Andrew Michael Stephens was born first, arriving at the Braselton campus at 12:32 a.m. Thomas Hart Fleming III was the first baby born at the medical center's Gainesville campus. He arrived at 12:34 a.m.

Ellen Wren, the charge nurse at the Braselton campus, said Andrew weighed 6 lbs., 11 oz. and is 20-inches long. His parents are Brandy Theresa Mitchell and Kenneth Scott Stephens of Flowery Branch. Andrew has two older sisters.

Hart, as he'll be known, is the first child of Darci Martin Fleming and Thomas Fleming of Gainesville. Hart weighed 6 lbs., 13 oz. and measured 21 inches.

The first babies of the new year typically are rewarded with gifts from Northeast Georgia Medical Center and community partners.
