The I-85 widening project continues in North Georgia, and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will resume single-lane closures for construction in Gwinnett County and Barrow County next week.
According to information from GDOT, the closures will be restricted to the nighttime and overnight hours.
Beginning Monday night, clearing activity and work on the Spout Springs Road Bridge will mean a closure in each direction between Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County and SR 211 in Barrow County. Work will occur nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. through Friday night.
Drivers are advised to obey posted speed limits and traffic control measures inside the project limits.
As with all GDOT projects, the work will take place as weather permits.
