Habersham Co. man held on drug charges in NC; bond set at $1M

A Habersham County man is being held on one million dollars bond after being arrested on drug charges in North Carolina.

According to a posting on the Macon County, North Carolina, Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Christopher Wikstrom was arrested Saturday morning and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine. He was arrested near Franklin, N.C., during a routine traffic stop. 

Wikstrom was arrested after "multiple packages of methamphetamine were found in the vehicle and subsequently seized by Macon County deputies.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Wikstrom was a fugitive and was on the Habersham County Most Wanted List.  Wikstrom, who previously lived in Franklin, was also wanted by the U.S Marshal Service.

A magistrate in Franklin set a secured bond of one million dollars and Wikstrom was still in jail in Franklin as of Sunday.
