Georgia Department of Transportation crews will begin work Tuesday, Jan. 8 as they resurface State Route 15/US 441 in North Georgia.
The work is scheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays and will reduce traffic to one lane on the divided highway. Weekend work will be done, as well.
The 9.83 mile-long project begins at English Rd. in Banks County and continues to the Habersham County line. Arrow boards, barrels and cones will alert drivers to shift over when entering the work zone.
C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. was awarded the project in July 2018 and has a completion date of June 30, 2019. This project represents a $6.3 million resurfacing investment in Banks County.
