GREENWOOD, S.C. – The No. 22 University of North Georgia women's basketball team had a cold-shooting night from beyond the arc as they fell to Lander 75-61 Wednesday.
Julianne Sutton snagged a career-high 16 rebounds to go with 14 points in the loss.
The Nighthawks jumped out to a nine-point lead in the first quarter, but the Bearcats went on a 15-0 run early in the second half to take a five-point advantage into the half. After an 8-0 run by UNG to start the second half, Lander again went on a run, scoring 22 of the next 30 points and rolled through the fourth quarter to get the win.
NOTES
– Tamera Thorpe led the Nighthawks in the scoring column, tallying 15 points in just 21 minutes of action. Amber Skidgel also finished with 14 points, surpassing 1,000 points scored at UNG in her career. When adding in her 44 points from her freshman year at UGA, the senior now has 1,047 career points.
– UNG was just 3-for-22 from behind the three-point line, their worst three-point shooting performance of the season.
– Lander's Jessica Harris led all scorers with 21 points.

The Nighthawks will take on Georgia Southwestern Saturday afternoon as part of the Homecoming festivities. The game will also coincide with the Athletics Hall of Fame induction. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
