A Gainesville man was killed in a three-vehicle crash in the East Hall area Wednesday night.
Austin Jeremy Tatum, 32, was a passenger in a 2003 Dodge Neon that careened into two other vehicles on Gaines Mill Road just north of Jim Sweet Road, according to Cpl. Joshua Hedden with the Georgia State Patrol.
Hedden said the driver of the Neon, Luis Enrique Ramirez, 29, of Gainesville was seriously injured in the crash.
According to investigating troopers, Ramirez was traveling south on Gaines Mill exiting a curve. He crossed the center line and hit a 2016 Dodge Charger. The Charger spun into a mailbox, according to Hedden. Ramirez' vehicle continued south in the northbound lane of Gaines Mill and hit a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 truck head on.
Hedden identified the driver of the Charger as Christian Abel Menchaca, 27, of Gainesville. Menchaca was not injured.
The driver of the Dodge truck, 52-year-old Walter Patrick Fulbright of Kennesaw, suffered serious injuries.
Hedden said charges are pending against Ramirez.
