OAKWOOD — No. 1 Marist never trailed in taking a 45-7 win over West Hall Friday in Region 7-4A action.
For the Spartans (0-7, 0-3 Region 7-4A) it was the third consecutive game against a top eight team and the fifth in their first seven games.
The West Hall offense, after scoring 44 points in its first two games, has scored just 20 total points in five games since. Meanwhile, the War Eagles (7-0, 3-0 Region 7-4A) stayed atop the region standings with Blessed Trinity, Denmark, and Flowery Branch.
Solomon Riley was one of the few bright spots for West Hall amassing 45 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Clayton Jenkins was 15-of-22 for 128 yards for the Spartans.
West Hall next will travel to White County next week.
