There's a telephone scam going on in the Flowery Branch area involving someone who is threatening people with a cut off of their water service if they don't pay their bill.
"The suspects are apparently trying to obtain checking account information from victims," according to a posting on the Flowery Branch Police Department's website. "The suspects also provide a call back number. Please be aware, this is a scam and the number is not a legitimate phone number for the City of Flowery Branch."
The posting advises anyone who gets such a call not to provide the requested information and hang up.
