*Volunteers from the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County recently spent three consecutive Saturdays providing breakfast, lunch and snacks for incoming volunteers during Rape Response’s three-day volunteer training. Rape Response was selected as a recipient of the league’s “Done in a Day” grant project.
*The Buford Corn Maze has been named one of the “Top 35 Corn Mazes in America” by Country Living magazine -- for the second year in a row.
*The Ellijay Lions Club will hold its annual Red Cross blood drive Nov. 14 from 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at 1729 Main St., Ellijay. Since 2010, the club's blood drives have collected a total of 5,683 units.
*United Way of Hall County, Family Promise of Hall County and WomenSource joining forces to collect new toys for the Christmas Promise Store. Toys can be dropped off at United Way of Hall County or one of several drop-off locations. You can also shop online at Target and Amazon and have the toys delivered directly to Family Promise.
*Major League Fishing and Fishing League Worldwide recently announced the locations for the six T-H Marine Bass Fishing League Regional Championships scheduled for 2020. One will be held in October on Lake Lanier.

*A Georgia Mountains Regional Commission Career Coach will visit the Sharon Forks Library in Cumming Nov. 6 from 11:00-2:30 and another will be at the Georgia Department of Labor's Veterans Job Fair in Gainesville the same day, 10:00-2:00. Experts will be on hand at each location to help job-seekers search for and apply for jobs, write resumes and cover letters, discern their career interests, and learn about funding available for training. This is a free service.
