The Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board will be asked to approve several code amendments when it meets Tuesday dealing with, among other things, "Hookah, E-Cigarette, and/or Vapor Lounges/Bars."
Regulation of such places of business has been discussed for several weeks by local governments across north Georgia.
In a related matter, another of the proposed amendments deals with the retail sale of all alternative nicotine products.
There are also proposals aimed at "lodging services" and "extended stay lodging," food processing plants, buffer requirements for Light Industrial and Heavy Industrial zoned areas when adjacent to residential properties, and a way to allow for the revocation of a certificate of occupancy and business license for criminal offenses for a period of 12 months.
The planning and appeals board meets at 5:30 Tuesday at the Gainesville Justice Center on Queen City Parkway.
