*Students from Gainesville Middle and Gainesville High Schools were selected to participate in the 2019 GMEA (Georgia Music Educators Association) District 14 Honor Chorus with over 400 students from middle and high schools throughout Georgia. Chosen based on their musical abilities and leadership in chorus, the participants attended a two-day workshop November 15-16 at Brenau University in which music experts worked with them on song ensembles.

*Lanier Technical College has named Annette Baker the Rick Perkins “Instructor of the Year” and Emma Blaze, a Dental Hygiene student, is the school’s GOAL (Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership) winner and will represent LTC in the regional competition featuring GOAL winners from all of the state’s technical schools.

*The North Georgia Technical College Foundation recently received a $12,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation to support student scholarships and student competition teams. The scholarships will be awarded students who are currently enrolled in or will be enrolling in Computer Numeric Control technology training or CNC machine-based engineering programs.
*Brenau University interior design students once again this year decorated for Christmas at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta.
