*Tammy Caudell has joined Carroll Daniel Construction Company in Gainesville as a Business Development Manager. Caudell’s role at Carroll Daniel will focus on building business opportunities and relationships with companies that relocate or expand into the Southeast. Most recently she served as Senior Project Manager for the Georgia Department of Economic Development in northeast Georgia, where she was responsible for Existing Industry and Regional Recruitment projects in Region 2 of the state.
*The University of North Georgia's College of Education scored Level 4, or exemplary, in the new Preparation Program Effectiveness Measures, developed by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Fewer than a quarter of the state's teacher education programs earned a 4 in these scores.
*The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission’s Career Coach will visit the Good Samaritan Food Bank in Gainesville on Wednesday, December 18, and Friday, December 20, 9 AM – 11 AM. The food bank is located at 1220 McEver Road. Experts will be on hand to help job seekers search and apply for jobs, write resumes and cover letters, discern their career interests, and learn about funding for training. There is no charge for these services.
*State Senator John Wilkinson along with State Representatives Terry Rogers and Chris Erwin will be on hand Tuesday morning, January 7, 7:30, at the North Georgia Technical College Dining Hall to talk with constituents prior to the start of the 2020 legislative session. *Director of Facilities Michael Boyd of Toccoa has been named North Georgia Technical College’s Employee of the year. .Allyson Smith, English instructor from Cleveland, was named the school's 2020 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction. The Rick Perkins Award honors technical education’s most outstanding instructors and has been an ongoing statewide event since 1991.
