The President and chief professional officer of United Way of Hall County, Joy Griffin, has resigned, effective April 30.
At that time she will assume the role of Chief Administrator of Carroll Daniel Construction Company.
Griffin has served as President and CFO for almost three years. She joined the agency in 2010 as Vice-President of Resource Development.
"United Way is experiencing great strides in its effort to create pathways out of poverty, and the new Community Game Plan is leading to critical conversations that will impact Hall County for good and for years to come. I owe a great debt of gratitude to the many volunteers, donors, board members and staff that I have worked alongside to improve lives in Hall County and transform our community," said Griffin. "My nine years at United Way of Hall County and 15 years in non-profit development have been a testament to the incredible generosity of the great people of Hall County."
"The United Way Board of Directors is grateful for Joy's passion and unwavering commitment to United Way and its vision for bettering our community," said Melissa Tymchuk, United Way Board Chair. "During her three years as President and CPO, she has ushered in unprecedented change - opening the Compass Center to better direct community members to available resources, uniting our local agencies to lay out a Community Game Plan focused on reducing poverty and alleviating financial burden and restructuring our funding around a collective impact model that creates greater return for each dollar raised. She leaves an indelible legacy in our community through lives changed - both now and in the future."
"Our community's success is grounded in the building upon the vision of those who came before us," said United Way's Board Chair-elect, Katie Dubnik, who is also leading the search committee for the organization. "Joy has helped cast a vision for great success and a strong future, and we look forward to identifying a new leader who shares this passion and will continue this vision forward. United Way is a volunteer-driven organization that has been in Hall County over 70 years, and our board of directors is committed to continuing to create pathways out of poverty and driving collective impact through the Community Game Plan and ONE HALL."
