Beginning next week, the railroad crossing on West Ridge Road north of Queen City Parkway in Hall County will be closed for repair work.
Officials with CSX Railroad have told Hall County government officials, they plan to block the crossing beginning Monday, Feb. 18.
Motorists will be rerouted to avoid to the area. The suggested detour will be Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to E.E. Butler Parkway.
"This is a very busy intersection with a Racetrac convenience store and Builders Source store south of the crossing and many more businesses and homes north of the crossing," said Ken Rearden, director of Hall County Public Works.
There's no indication of how long the crossing will be closed.
