Two units at Lennox Park Apartments in Gainesville suffered water damage about midday Friday after a fire on a stove in one of the units.
"Upon arrival, units found a cooking fire that activated the sprinkler systems," Gainesville Fire Department spokesman Keith Smith said. "Lennox Park Apartment maintenance personnel were already working to secure the sprinkler system."
Smith added there was minor damage to the stovetop and water damage to the apartment where the fire originated and the apartment below. Smith said the fire started from a pan of grease on the stovetop.
There were no injuries.
