The East Jackson boys soccer team edged Class 3A No. 3-ranked East Hall, 3-2, Thursday afternoon at East Hall Stadium in Rabbittown.
The Vikings (13-3-1, 5-1 Region 7-3A) will host a first-round Class 3A state playoff game Wednesday. Team and time will be announced later.
In girls action, the Lady Vikings beat East Jackson on penalty kicks for the first time in school history, 5-4. The five wins tie a school record for wins in a season.
The game ended in a tie, 5-5, but the Lady Vikings won the match on PKs, 4-2.
