Officers have arrested two burglary suspects who apparently had been living at a campground in the Cumming area.
The Gwinnett County Police Department on Tuesday, April 23 announced the arrests of Elvedin Cufurovic, 34, of Loganville and Andrew Luther Brown, 33, of Buford.
The investigation of the pair began on March 25, 2019 when the two suspects were captured on surveillance video breaking into several storage units at SecureLock Storage at 1573 Athens Highway in Grayson.
At the time, investigators were able to identify Cufurovic and issue warrants for his arrest on seven counts of burglary in the second degree. Once investigators released footage of the crimes in progress, tipsters came forward and identified Brown. They were also able to tell officers the two suspects were staying at the campground.
Gwinnett investigators shared information with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, and deputies were able to locate and arrest Cufurovic around 5 p.m. Friday, April 19.
"We sat on the location (Buford Highway storage unit) and he arrived soon after we started looking for him," said Cpl. Doug Rainwater with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office in an email statement. "He was charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute and drug-related objects by us."
Brown was arrested later in the evening on Friday at the campground, according to information from Gwinnett County PD. He also faces seven counts of burglary for the Gwinnett break-ins.
Once both men are released on charges in Forsyth County, they will be turned over to Gwinnett County authorities.
