The Georgia Department of Transportation said single lane closures will occur during the day this week on State Route 11/US 129 at the Longstreet Bridge construction project.
Starting Wednesday, May 8, crews will be working between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. GDOT officials said the daily single lane closure will allow crews to pour the concrete edge beams that will support the new bridge.
Work is expected to continue through Friday, weather permitting.
The Longstreet Bridge replacement project was awarded to E. R. Snell Contractor, Inc. in May 2017 and has a scheduled completion date of September 30, 2020. This project replaces both bridges on State Route 11/US 129 the Longstreet Bridge over the Chattahoochee and Bells Mill Bridge over the East Fork Little River.
