Sunday was billed by many as the "Busiest Day in Motorsports," and it certainly proved to be that for our intrepid Hard Left Turn crew.
Brandon Reed, Pete McCole and Amy Henderson were all three on the ground at Charlotte Motor Speedway this past weekend, providing coverage of the NASCAR race weekend while keeping up with the Indianapolis 500 and Monaco Grand Prix at the same time.
After an extra day off to travel home and to catch their breath, the trio are ready to break down the race weekend, including:
-Simon Pagenaud made a last lap pass on Alexander Rossi to secure his first career Indianapolis 500 victory in a very exciting 103rd running.
-Martin Truex, Jr. battled back from early problems to make a four-wide pass for the lead and the win at the end of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte.
-While Truex bounced back, some of his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates weren't as lucky, as the lead Toyota team had right front tire issues throughout the race.
-Sunday's 600 at Charlotte was one of the most competitive we've seen in quite a long time. We break down what made it so.
--Plus, we preview this weekend's Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway.
