By Bryan Pirkle Reporter

An Athens man was injured Saturday morning when his tractor trailer overturned in Hall County.

Tyeward Jerome Teasley, 39, was "hauling a load for Pilgrim's Pride" around 10 a.m. when Georgia State Patrol Cpl. Josh Hedden says he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve on Candler Road just before the intersection with Tanners Mill Circle.

Hedden says Teasley "lost control and traveled onto the east shoulder of the road. The tractor and its load overturned, spilling chickens onto the shoulder of the road."

Teasley apparently suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported from the scene to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He was also received a citation for failure to maintain lane.

Following the accident, Cpl. Hedden says crews from Pilgrim's Pride were called to the to secure the load of spilled poultry.
