*Seven Jackson EMC linemen helped in restoring power to Amicalola EMC customers this week after heavy rain, strong winds and severe thunderstorms last weekend caused widespread power outages.

*All southbound lanes on Georgia 400 between Exit 7 and Exit 6 will be closed Sunday morning 7:00-7:30 for a bike ride. Detours will be in place, according to the state Department of Transportation.

*The WorkSource Georgia Mountains Career Coach will visit the Spout Springs Library in Flowery Branch July 10 and the Cumming Library July 11, 10:00-2:00 each day.  Experts will be on hand to help attendees search and apply for jobs, write resumes and cover letters, discern their career interests, and learn about funded training opportunities. There is no charge to attend.

*Three northeast Georgia school systems, - Madison, Banks, and Gwinnett - are among several in the state who are winners of this year's Pupil Transportation Safety Awards from the state Department of Education.
