Construction activity for the I-85 widening project will require lane closures through Wednesday, July 3 along the corridor in Gwinnett, Barrow and Jackson counties.
The Georgia Department of Transportation said asphalt paving will mean single lane closures along I-85 southbound from SR 211 in Barrow County to Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County, and bridge construction will necessitate single lane closures along I-85 northbound from SR 211 to Jesse Cronic Road in Jackson County.
Work for each activity will occur Tuesday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Traffic pacing activity will also occur through Tuesday night.
To permit free flowing holiday traffic on Georgia interstates and highways, lane closure restrictions are in place from noon Wednesday until 10 p.m. Sunday.
Drivers are advised to obey posted speed limits and traffic control measures inside the project limits.
