U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia was released from a Washington, D.C. hospital Saturday.
Isakson, 74, was discharged from George Washington University Hospital. He was admitted Tuesday after reportedly falling in his apartment and suffering fractured ribs.
A release from Isakson's office says the republican senator is on his way back to Georgia for inpatient rehabilitaiton at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
"I’m on the mend and looking forward to fully healing my fractured ribs through intensive rehabilitation," Isakson said. "I thank everyone who has lifted me up through prayer and well-wishes."
In the release, Isakson's office says the senator's rehabilitation process may be prolonged by his symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
