A 51-year-old Gainesville man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Hall County on Labor Day.
Sgt. Charles E. Parker with the Georgia State Patrol said the accident happened Monday afternoon on Roy Parks Road at Athens Highway (SR 11).
"The investigation showed a 2010 GMC Terrain was traveling east on Roy Parks Road. For an unknown reason, the driver failed to stop at the stop sign and the vehicle crossed over SR11 (Athens Highway), colliding with a dirt embankment," Parker wrote in an email statement.
Parker said the driver, identified as Jose L. Gonzalez Ramirez, was not wearing a seat belt. He died at the scene of the accident.
