Clean up is underway on Dawsonville Highway in Gainesville after a truck carrying poultry parts spilled part of its load on the roadway.
Sgt. Justin Martin with the Gainesville Police Department said the spill happened just after 9 a.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes of the road near Ahaluna Drive.
"The inside left lane and left turn lane and left lane are closed. The right lane is open," Martin said in an email statement.
Martin said he was unsure how long the clean up would take.
Martin said the truck belongs to Tyson Poultry and the company is handling the clean up.
"The Georgia Department of Public Safety Motor Carrier Compliance Division is on scene and conducting an investigation into the spill," Martin said.
