A woman was struck by a vehicle and killed Wednesday night as she walked on Main Street near downtown Lula.
SFC Auston Allen with Post 6 of the Georgia State Patrol said the fatal accident happened around 7:30 p.m.
"The investigation revealed that Stacey Lynn Cash, age 21, of Lula, was walking north on Main Street near City Hall in Lula when she was struck by a southbound passenger car," Allen said.
Cash died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 68-year-old Lula woman, will not be charged, according to Allen.
"[Cash] was the at-fault subject in the crash, therefore no charges will be filed," Allen said, saying the young woman was wearing dark clothing and was walking in the roadway when she was struck.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
