Sen. Kelly Loeffler went on air with her first ad and talked about the waste of time on impeachment and I have to agree with her. We’ve got to focus on what’s important. Yesterday, I had President Pro Tem of the Senate, Sen. Butch Miller, on the program to talk about what is upcoming in the legislature.
We talked about how they get things done versus the federal government. Two things are important here. First, most states require a balanced budget and their legislators cannot go home until that is achieved each session. Second, states get a great deal of money from matching funds from the feds, so while states talk a good line on fiscal responsibility and are light years ahead of the feds in this area, the truth is, states would lose money if the Federal Government balanced the budget. So the question is, “Do they really want a balanced budget in Washington?”
So let’s focus on what is important on the federal side. They need to get to work. Loeffler is right that every day we spend on impeachment is a day we have lost getting the people’s work done. In addition, we need to be more involved and knowledgeable about the issues.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said yesterday that we couldn’t wait for the people to vote because we can trust the people or the elections. Words have meaning and if he’s going down the rabbit hole of we cannot trust elections…what he is really saying is we can trust the people to vote the way we want them to. The left is terrified that President Trump will be reelected in a landside and their actions every day are getting us closer to that outcome. Another thing he said was the election of President Trump was “incompatible with self-government.” Seems to me, if he really believes that, he’s in the wrong line of work.
That brings me to my final point. We need to get a lot of these people in another line of work. So get out and vote and make a difference. Since we don’t have term limits in Congress, then you need to be the “term limiter.”
