Charges are pending in a deadly traffic accident on Dawsonville Highway at Sardis Road in northwestern Hall County.

The Georgia State Patrol said the two-vehicle crash was reported at 9:42 a.m. Wednesday.

Troopers who investigated the collision said a Dodge Neon traveling westbound on Dawsonville Highway failed to stop at a red light at Sardis Road, crashing into a Chevrolet Silverado that was turning left onto Sardis Road.

The passenger in the Dodge Neon, 32-year-old Krystle Marie Wampler of Gainesville, was killed.

The driver of the Neon, 36-year-old Charles Scheer Wampler, sustained serious injuries while the 16-year-old driver of the pickup truck complained of injuries, according to troopers.

The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
