The Gainesville Police Department has identified the two pedestrians who were killed after being struck by vehicles in a pair of separate accidents earlier in the week.
"The victim from Friday, has been identified as David Tisdell, 25 of Oakwood, Georgia," said Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook. "For unknown reasons he stepped into the path of a commercial vehicle on Thompson Bridge Road."
Holbrook said the other victim, who was killed in a hit-and-run incident on Athens Street on Saturday, was identified as Christy Ramsey, 49 of Toccoa.
"She was struck by two vehicles on Athens Street near the intersection of Athens Highway. One of those vehicles fled the scene," he said. "We are asking the public to come forward with any information that may assist us in this case. The vehicle should have noticeable damage to the front. Anyone with information is asked to call 911."
Holbrook shared the information in an email update received on Sunday evening.
