PODCAST: Hard Left Turn - Kyle Busch wins the 72 hours of Fort Worth

By AccessWDUN Staff

No, it was not Groundhog Day.  But it sure felt like it.

After going under the red flag on lap 52 on Sunday for weather at Texas Motor Speedway, it took another three days of wrestling Mother Nature - in what felt like Texas steel cage match - to finally get the NASCAR Cup Series race in on Wednesday.

And in the end, it was Kyle Busch going to victory lane, ending his own neverending wait time to score another win.

On this week's Hard Left Turn podcast, Brandon Reed, Pete McCole and Amy Henderson look back at the news from Texas, including:

-Kyle Busch held off Martin Truex, Jr. for the victory at Texas Motor Speedway.

-More of a surprise than the Playoff drivers that were not in the hunt all day were the non-Playoff drivers who were.

-Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin both stumbled in the Lone Start state, but they seem safe enough going to the cutoff for the Round of 8 on Sunday at Martinsville.  Not so much for Chase Elliott, Martin Truex, Jr. or Alex Bowman.

-In the worst kept secret in racing, Kyle Larson has signed to drive for Hendrick Motorsports in 2021.

-Plus, we'll preview this weekend's action at Martinsville Speedway.

WDUN will carry live MRN Radio coverage of the NASCAR race weekend at Martinsville Speedway.  It begins with Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series Draft Top 250 beginning at 3 pm on 102.9 FM and streaming live on AccessWDUN.  Coverage continues on Sunday with the NASCAR Cup Series Xfinity 500 beginning at 1 pm on 102.9 FM, AM 550 and streaming live on AccessWDUN.
