BUFORD — Buford's defense is just dang good.

The Wolves (7-1, 5-0 Region 8-6A) held Winder-Barrow (4-5, 2-3 Region 8-6A) to just 152 total yards of offense en route to a 45-7 blowout win at Tom Riden Stadium on Friday.

The win sets up a region title match at home against Dacula next Friday.

Buford scored 28 unanswered points, 21 in the first quarter, to blow open the game.

The Wolves used the air attack early on with Dylan Wittke. Wittke hit Jake Pope with 9:16 left in the first quarter on a 9-yard pass. Boyd Farmer, less than two minutes later, put a pick-6 in his back pocket as he took it 16 yards to the house with 7:42 left in the first, and five minutes later, Farmer scored again, this time on a four-yard pass from Wittke.

In the second quarter, Ashton Daniels got in on the passing attack when he nailed Isaiah Bond on a 51-yard strike to go up 28-0 with 11:49 left.

The Wolves scored two more touchdowns and a field, a 41-yard Wittke pass to Pope,  a 20-yard Daniels run and a 24-yard Alejandro Matta field.
