By AccessWDUN Staff

A Hoschton driver faces charges following the death of a motorcyclist in a traffic accident that happened this past Saturday in Dacula.

The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit said the collision happened on Feb. 15 around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Braselton Highway and Hamilton Creek Parkway.

The preliminary investigation showed Braetan Petraro, 27, of Powder Springs was traveling east on Braselton Highway on his motorcycle when Samuel Perry, 63, of Hoschton attempted to make a left turn in front of Petraro. Perry's Chevrolet Tahoe struck the bike.

Petraro suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, according to police. He died the following day.

Perry was charged this week with homicide by vehicle 2nd degree and failure to yield turning left.
