Lumpkin County library closes temporarily starting Sunday

By AccessWDUN Staff

Lumpkin County will open a new library next month, but in order to move materials from the old location at 342 Courthouse Hill in Dahlonega to the new site, library services will be unavailable for three weeks starting Sunday, Feb. 23.

A social media post on the Lumpkin County Government Facebook page says the current location of the library will be open Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. After that, services will be unavailable until Monday, March 16 at 10 a.m. when the new facility opens.

Due dates on library materials will be adjusted to reflect the closed dates and no fines will accrue during the closure. Book drops will remain open at the OLD library location. Meeting rooms will not be available for reservation from now until April 1, 2020.

A grand opening celebration for the new library is scheduled for Saturday, March 28.
