Boys soccer: No. 1 Johnson blanks Bluff; Lakeview drops opener

OAKWOOD — Class 5A No. 1-ranked Johnson remained unbeaten after taking a dominating 4-0 win over Cherokee Bluff Friday night at The Dungeon.

Kevin Castillo, Jorge Santos, Ethan Mann, and Innis Viera all tallied goals for the Knights (4-0). The Johnson defense has allowed just one goal so far on the season.

The Knights next will travel to Class 4A fifth-ranked Chestatee (2-0-2) on Tuesday.

Cherokee Bluff (0-3-1) travels to Pinecrest Academy on Tuesday.

The Lakeview boys opened their season with a tough loss on the road.

 The Lions (0-1) were tied midway through the second half but missed several scoring opportunities to take the lead. Holy Innocents (2-2) scored a pair of goals late to pull away for the win.

For Lakeview, Whit Coyle scored on an assist from Jay Dave.

Lakeview will travel to Lumpkin County on Monday.
