A team of students from Gainesville High School is participating in an upcoming competition for a spot in the U.S Department of Energy's National Science Bowl.
This is the 30th year for the DOE Office of Science event, which was launched to increase interest among young people in pursuing careers in science and math.
The winning team from the regional competition will receive all-expenses-paid trips to Washington, D.C., to compete in the National Finals of DOE’s National Science Bowl from April 30-May 4. The winner of the national competition will win prizes for the team members and their schools.
The regional competition will be held March 7 in Savannah and will include teams from 23 other high schools in Georgia.
