*Suwanee’s Event & Outreach Manager Amy Doherty has been named Event Director of the Year by the Southeast Festivals and Events Association. Doherty has produced nearly 500 events for the town over the past 14 years.

*Hall County Clerk of Court Charles Baker and Mike Smith, Director of communications & compliance of the Georgia Superior Court Clerk’s Cooperative Authority, are holding a free notary training March 26,  10:00-11:30 at the Hall County Government Center. RSVP to the Clerk’s Office 770-531-7025 by March 25.

*Rachel Lee, Welding and Joining Technology student at Lanier Technical College’s Barrow Campus, has been selected to be an Executive Member of the Atlanta Section of the American Welding Society. Lee will also serve as be the Atlanta Sections’ Student Member Liaison, as well as the Publicity Chairperson.

*Dahlonega-based Georgia Forest Watch and the Len Foote Hike Inn in Dawson County are included in this year’s Georgia Water Protection Coalition’s list of clean water heroes. They and the others on the list will be recognized March 12 at the 3rd annual Clean 13 Celebration.

*The city of Gainesville’s Food Truck Fridays return March 13 at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.  The series will run once a month through August.  For more information, including updates, “Like” Lake Lanier Olympic Park on Facebook or visit gainesville.org.

*The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission’s Career Coach will visit the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Job Fair at the Gainesville Civic Center March 18, 10:00-2:00.  On March 12, it will be at the Cumming Library, 10:00-2:00, and on March 11, at the Spout Springs Library in Flowery Branch, 10:00-2:00.

*Braselton has begun taking bids on construction of the town’s new civic center.  Bids are due in the Construction Manager’s office by 10:00 a.m. April 7.

*North Georgia Technical College’s photography program is hosting a photography competition, “The Future, Now,” for high school students and participants up to 20 years of age.  For more information about the competition, call 706-754-7882.
