GAINESVILLE — The Lakeview boys soccer team opened its Region 8-A schedule with a wild 5-2 win over George Walton in overtime Monday at Allen Creek Park.
The match was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation but the Lions (3-3, 1-0 Region 8-A) tallied three goals in the extra frame.
Whit Coyle registered a hat trick getting assists from Bodie Blackwell, Drew Grebau, and Sam Perrott. Perrott also scored on a penalty kick in the overtime period.
Mani Reddy scored the first goal in overtime on an assist by Coyle.
Heer Patel recorded 13 saves in goal.
Lakeview next will take on Athens Christian on Thursday.
