The Coronavirus scare has impacted a popular spring event in the Northeast Georgia area. BabyLand General in Cleveland has announced it will cancel the annual Easter Eggstravaganza because of the virus threat.
A news release states BabyLand General will continue to be open to the public; however, in an abundance of caution, officials have canceled the gathering that was scheduled for April 4. The cancellation also applies to the annual "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny" activity.
BabyLand will celebrate the Easter season this year beginning Wednesday, April 1 through Saturday, April 11 by giving each visitor under the age of 10 a personal surprise bag of filled plastic eggs. Some eggs will contain coupons from local businesses. All visitors during that time period will also be eligible to enter a drawing for a free daily prize as well as one grand prize of a hand-stitched, one-of-a-kind Original Cabbage Patch Little Person valued at $265.
BabyLand officials said they plan to resume the Eggstravaganza egg hunt in 2021.
