Contracts have been approved by the Georgia Department of Transportation for a bridge project in Forsyth County and resurfacing on I-85 in Banks and Franklin counties. Together they represent a $19.6 million investment in GDOT's Northeast Region.
The first project aims to resurface about 18 miles of the Interstate beginning north of State Route 63 and extending south of State Route 17. The work is expected to be completed by January 2021.
The second calls for the construction of a bridge culvert on State Route 306 just east of Cantrell Road near Cumming at a cost of $588,000 - and also with an estimated completion date of January 2021.
