ASW: The effect of COVID-19 on high school sports

By Bo Wilson | Video by Seth Chapman

The novel coronavirus outbreak has shut down high school sports and activities across the state of Georgia.

And the Georgia High School Association announced on Tuesday that it will extend its mandatory suspension of all sports and activities through the end of March. The suspension also includes no practice or contact with the coaching staff.

If teams around the area do get the opportunity to resume the season, they'll have several obstacles to deal with like a shortened season, a modified postseason and the over physical condition of the athletes.

On this week's AccessSports Weekly, North Hall baseball coach Trevor Flow and Greater Atlanta Christian coach Robbie Wilson talk about the effects it will have on their respective programs.

North Hall pitcher Jackson Dyer also speaks about having his senior season cut short.
