NASCAR announces rescheduled races for AMS, four other tracks

By AccessWDUN Staff

NASCAR officials have announced more dates for the Cup, Xfinity and Truck Series in June, along with the first event of the ARCA Menards Series.

The rescheduled and reshuffled dates come as various states adjust their regulations in dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

All events are scheduled to be run without fans in attendance.

The first slate of rescheduled races begins this Sunday at South Carolina’s Darlington Raceway and runs through May 27 at North Carolina’s Charlotte Motor Speedway. Those dates included events for the Cup, Xfinity and Truck ranks.

On Thursday, NASCAR unveiled the next slate of rescheduled events, which remain largely in the southeast. The revised dates also show a swing back to weekend race dates, with just one event set for a weekday.

NASCAR will travel to Tennessee’s Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 30, with the Xfinity Series in action, followed by the Cup Series on Sunday, May 31.

On Saturday, June 6, both the Gander Truck Series and the Xfinity Series will compete at Atlanta Motor Speedway. That’s followed the next day, Sunday, June 7, with the Cup Series at Atlanta.

The NASCAR Cup Series then moves to the half-mile Martinsville Speedway on Wednesday, June 10 for a nighttime race.

All three tours make the trip to Homestead-Miami Speedway next, beginning a doubleheader on Saturday, June 13 for both the Gander Truck Series and the Xfinity Series. The next day, Sunday, June 14, Homestead hosts another doubleheader, with the Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Cup Series both in action.

That’s followed by a trip to Alabama’s Talladega Superspeedway for a Saturday doubleheader on June 20 with the ARCA Menards Series and the Xfinity Series. The NASCAR Cup Series takes to the Talladega high banks the next day, Sunday, June 21.

NASCAR officials have also announced the postponement of races at Kansas Speedway for May 30-31, Michigan International Speedway for June 5-7, along with the Xfinity Series at Mid-Ohio on May 30 and the Gander Truck Series at Texas Motor Speedway on June 5.
