Employees at Hall Co. Clerk of Court's office test positive for COVID-19

By AccessWDUN Staff

Offices and public areas at the Hall County Courthouse have received additional cleaning and disinfection after two people at the Clerk of Court's office tested positive for COVID-19.

Court officials with the Northeastern Judicial Circuit issued a press statement Thursday saying they had received confirmation of the positive tests, including that of Clerk of Courts Charles Baker. Other employees in the office are awaiting test results.

The statement from the courts said no one with a confirmed or suspected case had any direct contact with the public while on the job. Other courthouse employees were notified of the positive test results. Baker has told all staff to obtain negative test results before returning to work.

Court officials said the testing was requested after employees reported to their supervisor that they had potentially been exposed through social contact outside the office.

For the remainder of the week, litigants can file and conduct limited business at an alternative location in the main courthouse - the Receipt Room on the first floor.  The circuit's website has up-to-date information at www.nejc.org.
