Georgia Department of Transportation crews will be pouring concrete on the new Browns Bridge over Lake Lanier Friday night and Saturday morning.
GDOT spokeswoman Katie Strickland said lane closures will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, June 26 and continue until 6 a.m. Saturday, June 27.
The construction work will impact drivers as they travel over the lake between Forsyth and Hall counties.
The new bridge replaces the existing metal truss structure with a new conventional bridge featuring two 12-foot travel lanes and 8-foot shoulders. The project was awarded to Scott Bridge Company, Inc. in October 2017 for approximately $28 million.
