Forsyth man behind bars after Thursday night SWAT situation

A Forsyth County man is behind bars without bond after barricading himself into a home on Mountain Vista Court for several hours following a domestic incident on the evening of Thursday, July 9, according to a press release from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic incident with injuries at the home at 6:55 p.m., according to the press release. A female and juvenile that reside in the home had exited the residence and were at a neighbor’s home, but 45-year-old Stephan Reynolds remained inside with several weapons in his possession.

The Forsyth County SWAT team was activated when Reynolds would not come out of the home. The SWAT team located Reynolds in the home around 3:30 a.m. Friday near an AR-15 rifle, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Stacie Miller says.

Reynolds is now being held in the Forsyth County Jail and is being charged with two counts of false imprisonment, aggravated assault with a gun, aggravated battery and cruelty to children.
