A juvenile was shot and killed Tuesday night in a Lawrenceville neighborhood.
The Gwinnett County Police Department's Homicide Unit is investing the deadly shooting on Bernice Court, according to a statement from Cpl. Ryan Winderweedle.
"At approximately 7:30 p.m. officers assigned to the Bay Creek Precinct responded to a person shot call," Winderweedle said. "While en route, a caller said the patient may have been transported to a hospital by someone at the scene. Local hospitals were notified of a possible gunshot wound victim arriving. Shortly after arriving on scene officers were made aware of a juvenile male had arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound."
Winderweedle said the victim died at the hospital.
At last report, detectives were working on a timeline of events leading up to the shooting. They have not released a description of a suspect at this point.
