The Hall County Sheriff's Office is inviting members of the public to line the route for the funeral procession of Lt. Stephanie Hollingsworth, a veteran of the department killed in a traffic accident on Sept. 20.

Information from HCSO said traffic on two main thoroughfares in Gainesville will be impacted during the procession between 12:45 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30. All lanes of GA 369/Browns Bridge Road between Memorial Park Drive and GA 53/McEver Road will be closed. Southbound lanes of GA 53/McEver Road will be closed between GA 369/Browns Bridge Road and Free Chapel. The procession will end at Free Chapel on McEver Road where services for Lt. Hollingsworth are set to begin at 2 p.m.

In addition, motorists should also be aware of rolling intersection closures as the family is escorted from the funeral home to the start of the main procession route. Those closures include:

  • From Little & Davenport Funeral Home – GA 53/Dawsonville Highway to Pearl Nix Parkway
  • Pearl Nix Parkway to GA 369/Browns Bridge Road
  • GA 369/Browns Bridge Road to the procession start at Memorial Park Drive

Drivers in the area should expect delays and make alternate route plans around the closures.
