Voter registration deadline is Monday for Nov. 2 municipal elections

Municipal elections will be held across Georgia on Tuesday, Nov. 2, and residents who have not registered to cast a ballot need to do so by the end of the day Monday, Oct. 4.

While individual county elections offices offer registration services, the Georgia Secretary of State's Office has an online registration option through the My Voter Page. Voters must register by Monday's deadline to cast a ballot on Nov. 2 or in any runoff election that may result from that day's voting.

In Hall County, there are contested elections in the cities of Flowery Branch, Gainesville, Gillsville and Lula. (A portion of Braselton is located in Hall County, but the Hall County Elections Office is not coordinating the election for Braselton.)

Starting Tuesday, Hall County Elections Office personnel will conduct tests on voting equipment to be used in the 2021 Municipal Election. The process begins Tuesday, Oct. 5 and will continue until all voting equipment to be used during early voting and on election day had been tested.Testing will run from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. each day. The public is invited to view the logic and accuracy testing, but anyone who wishes to observe must make an appointment. Because of physical distancing requirements imposed for the COVID 19 pandemic, two people can observe at a time in 30-minute time slots.
