The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a shooting at the Parma Tavern on Buford Drive near the Mall of Georgia.
A statement from the police department said officers were called to the business around 1:30 a.m. Friday to investigate a report of shots fired in the area.
When officers arrived, they reportedly heard gunshots nearby and returned fire. No officers were injured and there's no indication anyone else was struck.
One person suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg was found at the business. That's person's name has not been made public.
The police statement said investigators are exploring motives in the shooting, and they are asking anyone who might have information on the incident to contact GCPD investigators.
