GAINESVILLE — If there's one quarter Cherokee Bluff wants back against North Hall on Tuesday, it's the second quarter.
After a back-and-forth first quarter that ended with North Hall (6-1, 1-0 Region 7-3A) up 20-17, the Trojans outpaced the Bears 16-7 in the second frame to set themselves apart in the 76-60 Region 7-3A opening win at Lynn Cottrell Gym.
Andrew Bales led the Trojans with 24 points, hitting 12 from behind the 3-point line, while Robert Terry had 20 points.
Bluff's Cade Simmons was the hot-hand for the Bears (2-2, 0-1 Region 7-3A) with 20 points. Carlos Marlow turned in a 17-point effort.
North Hall kept the pressure on the Bears in the second half. Bales and Terry were the main reason, combining for 26 points.
