Cumming girl, 6, and mother found safe in Mexico after kidnapping

A woman from Cumming and her young daughter were found safe in Mexico after they were allegedly taken against their will by the child's father.

According to a Facebook post from the Cumming Police Department, Rachel Zecena, 6, and Balvanera Esperanz Parada-Olivas, 45, have returned to the United States with law enforcement officials.

Their alleged kidnapper, Alexis R. Zecena-Lopez, 55, was arrested and was awaiting extradition as of 4 p.m. Wednesday.

"I am very thankful to the US Marshals and FBI for all the hard work they put into helping track down Esperanza and Rachel and bringing them home safely," the social media post stated.

Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a little girl from Cumming and her mother who might have been taken from their home against their will.

Rachel Zecena, 6, and Balvanera Esperanz Parada-Olivas, 45, are believed to have been abducted by Alexis R. Zecena-Lopez, 55, according to a report from CBS 46.

The child has black hair and brown eyes. Her mother, who also has black hair and brown eyes, is 5' 2" and weighs approximately 150 pounds. 

The alleged kidnapper, Zecena-Lopez, is the father of the child. He is 5'8" and weighs approximately 175 pounds.

Law enforcement officials believe Zecena-Lopez may be traveling in Balvanera's 2016 black Ford Focus with Georgia license plate RVX9470.

Zecena-Lopez may be armed with a firearm and should be considered dangerous. 

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of any of the three is asked to call 911 or the Cumming Police Department at 770-781-3087.
